ROLLS BATTERY
ENGINEERING - #1 FOR 40 YEARS!
Marine Batteries
Rolls Marine
Batteries have been the #1
CHOICE of the people who ply the North Atlantic for
over forty years. The heavy duty design, with a reputation for
outlasting all of the competition, is known from Texas to Newfoundland.
At sea, where the life of the boat and her crew are at stake,
take no chances, specify Rolls. And
for RV owners, nothing beats the dependability and deep cycle
capacity of a Rolls Marine Battery
in your well-outfitted vehicle.
Series 3000 - Heavy Duty Marine (click for specs)
Designed for starting applications and suitable for limited lighting
and power service. These batteries have maximum plate area without
sacrificing life and reliability. Premium high density positive
and negative plates along with lifetime microporous polyethylene
envelopes are used.
Series 4000 - Deep Cycle Marine (click
for specs)
Designed for lighting and power and suitable for starting applications.
This is a cycling battery and has more cubic inches of positive
active material. These have maximum plate thickness that does not
sacrifice on performance.
Series 5000 - Deep Cycle Multiplate Marine (click
for specs)
The same features as the Series 4000 plus the multiplate
design available in the NS & CH types. forty percent more plate
area than conventional designs give the Rolls Series
5000 the highest cranking capacity in the industry. Because of
increased plate area the NS & CH types have the lowest current
density per plate for a comparable load of any other marine battery
on the market. This results in less grid oxidation which produces
a much longer life.

THE ROLLS DIFFERENCE
RESISTOX
POSITIVE PLATE -
Over thirty years development and experience
are behind the famous Resistox Positive Plate Design. Rolls batteries
made with Resistox outlast other same-size marine batteries with
up to 2X
Greater Life.
HIGH-DENSITY ACTIVE MATERIAL -
Retards active material shedding, thus greatly prolonging the useful
battery life.
FIBERGLASS MATS - A
dense glass mat will prevent shedding of the positive plate material.
Such a heavy, dense mat is used in the Rolls Series
3000, 4000 and 5000 lines - not a thin loose weave like that used
in competitive batteries to qualify as double insulation. Such
attention to quality is a hallmark of the entire Rolls line.
SEPARATORS - The positive plates
are double insulated with thick woven glass matting and then sealed
in a non-destructive microporous polyethylene envelope. The envelope
eliminates the need for a sediment space at the bottom of the cell,
and allows for more liquid space at the top.
HIGH-DENSITY NEGATIVE PLATE -
High-Density negative material is essential in order to maintain
a perfect balance with the high-density positive material. This
also eliminates negative starvation and maintains a healthy negative
plate throughout the life of the battery.
